St. Petersburg 42, Pinellas Park 6

ST. PETERSBURG — Underclassmen took over senior night at St. Petersburg, leading the host Green Devils to a rout.

Sophomores Cody Pogorelc and Jamone Myrick returned interceptions for touchdowns of 37 and 25 yards, respectively, in the first half, and sophomore Rashad Lewis and junior Ben Sams added rushing touchdowns early as the Green Devils led 28-0 at halftime.

Green Devils junior running back Mike Seay opened the fourth quarter with a 44-yard run that led to a fumble recovery for a touchdown by junior offensive lineman Scott Loyden. Sophomore running back Stevie Murph added an 11-yard touchdown run to cap the scoring for the Green Devils.

The Patriots scored when senior Will Smith returned a kickoff 98 yards with 38 seconds left. Six running backs combined for 302 rushing yards for St. Petersburg.
