Lions down, out
DETROIT — The Lions were eliminated from the playoff picture with another late-season collapse that very well might cost coach Jim Schwartz his job.
Josh Brown's 45-yard field goal in overtime lifted the Giants past Detroit, which has lost five of six and squandered fourth-quarter leads in each setback.
Schwartz's fate might be sealed with his ninth straight loss in December or January.
"Speculation isn't my job," he said. "Coaching is enough of a job for me."
The Giants overcame Eli Manning's interception late in regulation and Andre Brown's fumble on the opening drive in overtime.
