Coughlin music amuses, inspires

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Coach Tom Coughlin lightened the mood during the week with music, then the Giants improved to 1-2 with old-fashioned football.

Rashad Jennings ran for a career-high 176 yards and a touchdown and Eli Manning threw two touchdowns to end any chance of a second straight 0-6 start.

New York had three interceptions, and a blocked punt set up a TD.

"It's good to get that first win," said Manning, who was 21-of-28 for 234 yards and no interceptions. "We didn't want to go through (0-6) again. The coaches and everybody didn't get too uptight. With coach keeping his cool, bringing a little excitement to practice, it helped the players just relax. We said: 'It's Sunday. Just go play football. Just play the game you love.' "

Manning joked about the music that was played on Friday: "We just stole it off Coach Coughlin's iPad. You know, early '90s rap."
