ST. PETERSBURG — Rangers GM Jon Daniels said it's his full expectation that manager Ron Washington will return next season.
Texas has seen its AL West title hopes slip away for a second straight season because of a September slide.
"I refer to us as partners, and I feel very much that way," Daniels said Tuesday at Tropicana Field before his club played the Rays. "Other than that, we'll address everything in the offseason. Like I said, I fully expect that partnership will continue."
Earlier, Washington told ESPN radio that he was concerned about his job, though he later told the Associated Press he wasn't worried. "I'm steadfast with what my job has always been," he said.
