PALM HARBOR — Katy Harris, Kris Tamulis and Marta Silva beat the darkness and finished Saturday's second round at 4-under 140 to take the lead at the Symetra Tour's IOA Golf Classic at Innisbrook Resort.
Second-round play was suspended at 8:11 p.m. with 38 players still on the course. They'll tee off starting at 7:45 a.m. today, with the final round scheduled to start no earlier than 10:30 a.m.
Tamulis, a Tampa resident and LPGA Tour member, fired her second straight 2-under 70.
"I'm just happy to be out here," she said. "I'm feeling in my schedule, I live in Tampa so I'm staying at home. … I'm happy to be playing."
Harris' 72 included five birdies, three bogeys and double bogey. Silva, a tour rookie, recorded a bogey-free 3-under 69.
U.S. WOMEN'S AMATEUR: Emma Talley and Yueer Cindy Feng won semifinal matches to advance to the 36-hole final in Charleston, S.C. Talley, 19, a Princeton, Ky., player coming off her freshman season at Alabama, beat 18-year-old Alison Lee of Valencia, Calif., 1-up at the Country Club of Charleston. Feng, 17, of Orlando topped Taiwan's Doris Chen 3 and 2.
