Jumbo selected to Hall of Fame

Jumbo Ozaki, right, who won more than 100 tournaments and led the Japan Tour money list 12 times, was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame through the international ballot. He will be inducted May 9 at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine. Ozaki had 111 victories, all in Japan except for the New Zealand PGA Championship in 1972. The knock on him was he never won in the United States, though he had top 10s in the Masters and U.S. Open. He joins Isao Aoki as the only Japanese men in the hall. "I am very happy, very honored," Ozaki said. "My only regret is not playing more outside of Japan, but I dedicated my life to Japanese golf."

Westwood to cut back on PGA Tour

Lee Westwood says he won't be a regular on the 2011 PGA Tour, coming to the United States only for majors, World Golf Championship events and occasional tournaments. The Englishman, 37, said he will put his family first and remain based in Europe despite a chance to compete for the tour's FedEx Cup and its $10 million bonus. "Why would you take up membership in the States when you've been the most successful player in the world this year?" he said. "When you've come in second in two major championships (this year's Masters and the British Open), you must be doing something right."
