Lightning goalie Garon leaves game with injury

PITTSBURGH — The Lightning gave no specifics on goaltender Mathieu Garon's injury during Monday's game against the Penguins, though it is serious enough Cedrick Desjardins is being called up from AHL Syracuse to back up Anders Lindback tonight at New Jersey.

Garon seemingly was hurt early in the second period when he twisted himself to prepare for a shot. He made a terrific glove save on Evgeni Malkin but left the game 2:19 into the period after being looked at by head athletic trainer Tommy Mulligan.

Garon's 2011-12 season ended when he tore a groin in a March 6 game against Ottawa.
