Lightning to talk to two college defensemen

The Lightning will be talking to free agent defenseman Andrej Sustr, a junior at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, who, according to Bob McKenzie of tsn.ca, has decided to leave school and field NHL offers.

Sustr, 6 feet 8, 225 pounds, from the Czech Republic, was at Tampa Bay's prospect camp in July. He had nine goals, 25 points and 53 penalty minutes in 39 games last season for UNO.

"We had him in our camp so, obviously, we're interested," general manager Steve Yzerman said.

The Lightning also is interested in Western Michigan junior defenseman Dan DeKeyser, whom it pursued last year before he decided to stay in school. He is a teammate of senior defenseman Luke Witkowski, whom Tampa Bay drafted 160th overall in 2008 and whom Yzerman wants to sign.

"He has developed nicely in college," Yzerman said.
