No discipline for Bruins' Liles on Kucherov hit

Bruins defenseman John-Michael Liles won't be disciplined for his hit on Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov, the league said after a hearing Thursday.

The league didn't give a reason for its decision.

The hit occurred at 17:30 of the first period of Tuesday's game at Amalie Arena. No penalty was assessed. Kucherov stayed on the ice while a trainer went out to help him. He did not play the rest of the first period but returned for the second and played the rest of the game.

In announcing the hearing, the league said it was considering supplemental discipline for an illegal check to the head.
