  1. Terry Small back at the helm of East Lake volleyball

    Matt Burns has resigned as East Lake volleyball coach 10 matches into the 2017 season, according to athletic director Kris Toscani. Toscani wrote in an email that Burns has resigned to spend time with his family and that the new coach is Terry Small.

    Small is also the old coach.

    With the abrupt resignation of Matt Burns, former East Lake coach Terry Small is back in charge of the volleyball program. (Times 2010)

    TAMPA — It wasn't that Berkeley Prep played poorly in Saturday's final of the Berkeley Premier.

    The Bucs, in fact, played pretty well.

  9. Vibe is good around Clearwater volleyball this season

    CLEARWATER — Katy Rice knows what a good volleyball team looks like, and the Clearwater coach believes she has a pretty good one this year. Rice was a left-side hitter on the only two teams to win a volleyball state championship at Clearwater, in 1997 and 2000.

  10. Volleyball powers Berkeley Prep, Plant enter season with new coaches

    TAMPA — Two perennial local volleyball powerhouses, Berkeley Prep and Plant, have made significant changes this year at the most significant position possible.

    The helm.

    Mackenzie Dagostino officially takes over the head coaching position at Berkeley Prep High School, where her father, Randy Dagostino, coached 29 years and won 15 state titles.
