As the oldest of seven children, ex-Ravens nose tackle Ma'ake Kemoeatu says, it's his duty to take care of his siblings: "If (they) need blood, it'll be my blood. If they need a kidney, it'll have to be my kidney."
He's not being dramatic. Ma'ake, 35, has donated a kidney to brother Chris, 31, an ex-Steelers guard.
Chris had had kidney problems since the eighth grade. When he found out he needed a transplant, Ma'ake volunteered to donate and quit the Ravens in 2012. The brothers began preparing for the surgery 1 1/2 years ago. It happened Aug. 27 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
Chris said at a news conference it "definitely brought us closer as brothers."
