ARLINGTON, Texas — Carlos Santana and Yan Gomes, the Nos. 8 and 9 hitters, respectively, homered for the Indians. Gomes' three-run shot in the sixth broke a 1-1 tie. Santana, the cleanup hitter for most of the year but hitting .171, capped a four-run seventh with a two-run shot. The home runs backed Josh Tomlin. The native of Tyler, Texas, had his longest appearance this season, leaving after a leadoff single in the ninth.
