Sanchez, Tebow give Jets quick lift
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — One touchdown after another, the Jets eased all those preseason concerns about their low-scoring offense.
With a whole lot of Mark Sanchez, a sprinkling of Tim Tebow and a dominant first half of defense, New York manhandled the Bills.
Coach Rex Ryan passed on a chance to say "We told you so" to critics and doubters. So did Sanchez and Tebow.
"Vindication, chip on our shoulder, maybe that's not the right things," Ryan said. "We were just excited to play."
Sanchez threw three touchdown passes, two to rookie receiver Stephen Hill.
Tebow, a Heisman Trophy winner at Florida, wasn't used that much in his highly anticipated New York debut but worked out of the wildcat formation a little bit and also recovered a late onside kick.
