DETROIT — Chris Tillman fell two outs shy of his first career nine-inning complete game for the Orioles. Tillman, who allowed one run in five innings to the Red Sox on opening day, left after Victor Martinez's double. Tommy Hunter retired both batters he faced. Matt Wieters hit a homer in the ninth, only the Orioles' third of the year. The Tigers, who had been the majors' last unbeaten team, had 17 runs and 30 hits in winning the series' first two games. Torii Hunter homered for the third consecutive game for them.
