Application period for turkey nears

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will begin accepting 2009 special opportunity spring turkey hunt applications beginning at 10 a.m. Sept. 9. The application period continues until midnight Oct. 14. Applications may be submitted at, county tax collectors offices or at any license agent. A random drawing decides who will receive the coveted permits. To apply, hunters can obtain application worksheets at and all FWC regional offices.
