FWC offering special hunts
in fall season

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is offering special opportunity hunts during the fall season for deer, wild hogs and release quail on some of the state's public hunting lands. The hunts will take place on Fort Drum (Indian River County), Lake Panasoffkee (Sumter County), Triple N Ranch (Osceola County) and the Green Swamp West Unit (Pasco County). Hunters planning to get a special opportunity hunt can get one beginning Tuesday. Applications will be accepted through June 10. Go to www.myfwc.com/hunting or call (850) 488-3641.

Boat show on tap
at state fairgrounds

The Tampa Bay Boat Show will be May 16-18 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. Admission is free, and the gates open at 10 a.m. each day. The show will feature boat dealers and manufacturers, boating and fishing supplies and accessories. For information, call (727) 893-8523.
