Plan to harvest Alligators? Get a permit June 3

Alligator hunters, this is a heads-up. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will make alligator harvest permits available starting June 3. The permits will be distributed first-come, first-served and are limited to one per person. The cost of the trapping license and hide-validation tag is $271.50, and for nonresidents it is $1,021.50. There are 4,500 alligator permits available, and if those are not bought by June 9, the remaining go on sale June 10. Alligator hunting season is Aug. 15-Nov. 1. For information on obtaining a permit, go to www.myfwc.com/gators.
