What's hot: Snook season is wide open, but that doesn't mean you have to harvest one. I haven't tasted a snook in five years; most of you haven't in at least three, yet we survived. Be responsible with catch-and-release as snook increase in numbers and populate the herd in Tampa Bay. Snook are biting okay. We released several in the 26- to 33-inch range the past week. All ate the smallish whitebait under corks.
Tactics: Matching the hatch and chumming were effective and helped to turn them on.
