Captain's Corner: catching sheepshead

What's hot: Sheepshead are covering up the bay and are chewing on fiddler crabs and smallish shrimp. The trick to catching sheepshead is to hook them before they bite. But really, wait for them to bend the rod tip, let the fish nibble at it, and as the tip bends give it a bump and reel.

What else: Redfish are roaming the flats and are at times more than 500 yards offshore and feeding on smallish bait fish.

The rest: Sharks are grinding on just about any type of cutbait, look for them around schools of stingrays. Cutbait is the key.
