Captains corner: Check for gag grouper near sheltering structure

What's hot: Gag grouper season opens Sunday, and the effects of the storm may make it easier to target them. During a major storm, gag grouper usually seek the nearest large, high-profile structure for protection from the buffeting of wave action that exists even in deeper water. For a while they will be near large ledges, wrecks and artificial reefs where baitfish have sought shelter.

Tip: Use squid or a combination of squid and sardine with the tail cut off to get more bites.
