What's hot: Some of the biggest trout schools are around Pinellas Point. Threadfins and scaled sardines have been the best bait to use, and some fish are starting to show up around the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. When the water temperature starts to rise, they should start migrating onto the grass flats.

Tactics: In some areas, smaller trout have been caught in big numbers, while other spots have produced larger fish. Arrange a drift in 3 to 4 feet of water over grass flats and work the edge. The larger "gator" trout have been holding in deeper sand holes on shallow grass flats.
