Captains corner: Slower tides slowing the bite

What's not hot: The sluggish morning tides after the full moon are always difficult when fish are transitioning into summer patterns.

Pro tips: Focus on periods of peak tidal flow. Fish close to passes, where tidal movement is the greatest. Consider the narrow cuts around bridge abutments that speed up water flow.

Good news: Tidal movement will improve over the weekend and into early next week. Expect activity from snook and redfish to improve.
