Recent catches of snook and redfish have been good, and double-digit days have been the norm. Fill the well with small sardines and chum heavily. I tend to wait for a pop then throw on it, which works well if your cast is accurate. A 20-pound leader is generally sufficient and a weighted cork can achieve the distance needed to reach the trees. Trout and mackerel have been thrashing the schools of bait fry relentlessly. Setting up-current and drifting baits back toward the bait pods has been a deadly tactic for getting trout and mackerel. Bonnet head sharks are in the mix and easily sight-fished as they cruise around for an easy meal.
