Search for clean water for snook

What's hot: Rainy conditions will undoubtedly change current fishing patterns. Extreme conditions will dirty the waters both inshore and offshore for a few days. Large amounts of fresh water will be exiting run-offs over the next few days; spillways, drain pipes and small creeks will attract plenty of snook looking to grab an easy meal. Bottom-bouncing jigs and small swim baits that mimic small tilapia and panfish work great, as will shallow-diving jerkbaits and topwater plugs.

Bait search: After the storm, bait fishing might be difficult, since dirty water moving in and out of the passes will make it tough to chum up the bait along adjacent grass flats at sunrise. Working bridge shadow lines in the predawn hours will most likely be a better bet.
