Two of the bay area's top baseball teams — Brandon and Dunedin — meet tonight in the state semifinals. If you can't make it to Sarasota for the 8 p.m. matchup, head over to blogs.tampabay.com/preps/ where our staff writers will keep you updated on all the action.

North Suncoast signings

• Land O'Lakes receiver Nick Castellano, the Gators' second-leading receiver with 440 yards and four touchdowns, is headed to Ohio Northern.

• Land O'Lakes running back Stephen Wood, who rushed for 448 rushing yards and four touchdowns, is headed to Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota.

• Land O'Lakes lineman Keith Hoffmann is headed to Wingate University in North Carolina.

• Nature Coast lineman J.J. Baker will sign with Huntingdon College in Alabama.

• Nature Coast lineman Jacob Myers will sign with Lakeland College in Sheboygan, Wis.

• Nature Coast lineman Brandon Nuby will sign with Webber International.

Correction

Shannon Aitken stopped nine shots for the Bradenton Athletics in a 1-0 win over the Tampa Bay Hellenic. Aitken was identified as a member of another team in Tuesday's Times.

More Sharks

Sophomores Tevin Drake and Antwan Story and freshman Gary Myrick have been invited to the National Underclassman Top 100 camp in Atlanta in June. The combine costs $80.

Alumni update

Two former local aces — right-hander Erik Bua (Ridgewood) and lefty Jono Cornelius (Land O'Lakes) — are headed for the college postseason. Both are members of the Florida Tech squad that will play in the upcoming Division II South Region Tournament, the school's first NCAA tourney berth in 16 years. Cornelius, a sophomore, is 1-0 with a 1.00 ERA in two starts this season. Bua, a senior, has a 3.95 ERA in 21 relief appearances

More Pirates

Purdue and Vanderbilt are recruiting Pasco junior Josh Johnson as a defensive back. USF likes him as a running back. In addition, Pasco lineman Eric Stroud is hoping to walk on at FIU in the fall.
