d’Arnaud, who has recorded multiple hits in three of his last four games, will play first base for the first time in a game since 2012, when he appeared in two games at the position for the Blue Jays’ AAA affiliate in Las Vegas. He played a game each at second and third with the Mets in 2017.

“He looks fairly comfortable,” manager Kevin Cash said.

“I know playing in a game is a whole different animal. It’ll be on myself and (coach) Rodney (Linares) to kind of communicate with him throughout the game, throughout the inning of where he needs to be and different circumstances that might arise, but as far as catching the ground ball, receiving throws from infielders, he’s looked very comfortable.”

Meantime, the Rays have placed infielder Christian Arroyo on the 10-day injured list with right forearm tendinitis, and recalled right-hander Hunter Wood from Durham.
