Marc Topkin’s takeaways from Rays’ 4-1 Sunday win over Orioles

* That lefty Ryan Yarbrough wasn’t aware he was working on completing a perfect game wasn’t that surprising. He threw a no-hitter in high school for All Saints Academy and didn’t know it until told afterward because he was mad about walking five.

* Ryne Stanek and Ryan Yarbrough got all the attention for their perfect game bid, but Oliver Drake and Emilio Pagan had huge roles in securing the win as the O’s scored one run in the ninth, had two on and the tying run to the plate before Pagan ended it.

* Nate Lowe is getting more attention given his five homers, and creating a debate at least among fans if he should take Ji-Man Choi’s place full time. But fellow rookie Mike Brosseau is playing well too, forcing his way into the lineu and the conversation.
