Record night of Heat hot shots

MIAMI — Hassan Whiteside had a career-high 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and Joe Johnson scored 24 in his Miami home debut as the Heat set a franchise record Tuesday by shooting 67.5 percent on the way to rolling past the Bulls 129-111.

Luol Deng scored 20 and Dwyane Wade had 18. Miami's mark for regular-season shooting percentage was 63.4 on Dec. 16, 2013, against Utah.

Chicago was within 108-102 with 5:14 left, but Miami ended it on a 21-9 run. Chicago's Derrick Rose returned from a three-game injury absence and scored 17.

Game highlights: Wesley Matthews scored 21 as the host Mavericks beat the Magic 121-108. Ersan Ilyasova scored 22 off the bench and Nikola Vucevic had 18, all in the first half, for Orlando. … Damian Lillard scored 30 and CJ McCollum had 21 of his 25 in the second half as the Trail Blazers beat the Knicks 104-85 for their sixth straight road win.

Irving denies wanting out: Point guard Kyrie Irving denied an ESPN report that said he wants out of Cleveland. "There's nothing to really address," Irving said. "It's all about winning and winning a championship for Cleveland."

Ratings hit: Golden State's stunning rally Saturday at Oklahoma City was the most-watched non-Christmas NBA regular-season game since 2013. The defending champions' 121-118 overtime win, capped by Stephen Curry's 37-foot shot, averaged more than 5.3 million viewers on ABC. ESPN said that was the most since 5.4 million for the 2013-14 opener between the Heat and Bulls on TNT.
