Red Sox 3, Orioles 1
BOSTON — The Red Sox clinched their first postseason berth since 2009, beating the Orioles behind John Lackey's two-hitter. Boston lowered its magic number to two for clinching the AL East. Baltimore's first hit was an Adam Jones one-out home run in the seventh. Lackey also allowed a one-out single to J.J. Hardy in the eighth, striking out eight and walking two in his 16th career complete game. The crowd chanted, "Lackey! Lackey!" Boston scored all of its runs in the second on Stephen Drew's two-run homer and Dustin Pedroia's RBI single.
