BOSTON — John Lackey struck out a season-high 12 in seven innings, Daniel Nava drove in two runs and the Red Sox swept the two-game series. Lackey, who missed last season rehabilitating from elbow ligament replacement surgery, struck out nine over the first four innings while allowing Wilin Rosario's first-inning RBI single. The Rockies' Michael Cuddyer hit two homers to extend his hitting streak to 23 games, matching Dante Bichette's club record set in 1995.
