Report: Owner of Marlins angers team

Owner Jeff Loria angered Marlins players this week by instructing rookie manager Mike Redmond to flop the order of starting pitchers Jose Fernandez and Ricky Nolasco for a doubleheader, Yahoo Sports reported Friday.

Loria wanted Fernandez, a rookie and former Alonso High star, to pitch the first game, which was originally slated for Nolasco because typically veterans choose which game they want to pitch. Loria believed Tuesday's game-time temperature for the first game would be warmer, the report said.

Redmond, fewer than 20 games into the season, told Nolasco about the change about 2½ hours before the first game. Loria tried to make lineup suggestions to ex-manager Ozzie Guillen, who ignored him, the report said.

Clinic scandal: Injured Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez is being linked to human growth hormone and Actovengin via documents from the South Florida clinic being investigated by MLB, ESPN reported. Clinic chief Anthony Bosch used forged prescription forms from other doctors to get the substances.

Indians-Royals postponed: Rain prevented Cleveland and host Kansas City from playing Friday, so they will play Sunday in the first day-night doubleheader at Kauffman Stadium.

Pirates ejected: LHP Jonathan Sanchez and manager Clint Hurdle were ejected in the first inning after Sanchez hit Cardinals cleanup hitter Allen Craig in the helmet. Sanchez had allowed back-to-back homers and a single to start the game. Hitting coach Jay Bell was ejected in the fifth for arguing after Starling Marte was hit b for the second straight time.

Blue Jays: RHP Josh Johnson was scratched from his start against the Yanks (tight right triceps).

Dodgers: RHP Chad Billingsley had elbow-ligament replacement surgery and is out for a year.

Tigers: RHP Justin Verlander is expected to make his next start despite a blister on his pitching thumb.

Yankees: RHP Ivan Nova left his start in the third with elbow pain, and C Francisco Cervelli left in the first with a broken right hand after being hit by a foul tip. Cervelli needs surgery and will be out at least six weeks.
