The Bulls’ Derrick Rose beats the 76ers’ Andre Iguodala downcourt for two of his 23 points in his return from a sprained left wrist.

PHILADELPHIA — Ninety minutes before tip-off, Derrick Rose was flexing his wrist in the locker room. He then flexed his All-Star form in a game the Bulls desperately needed to win.

Rose scored 23 in his return from a sprained left wrist, and Chicago ended its losing streak at 10 games with a 98-84 victory over the 76ers on Saturday night.

"I've been working out and doing a lot of running, but it was just great to be back with the team," Rose said.

Kirk Hinrich added 17 points and 11 assists, Brad Miller had 16 points, and Hakim Warrick 13 for the Bulls, 2½ games behind Toronto for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Rose sparked the Bulls with a 9-for-16 shooting performance, including 4-for-6 on 3-pointers.

"I got a lot of open shots," Rose said. "It seemed like they were giving me the shots. I was open. I had to take them."

St. Petersburg native Marreese Speights had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Philadelphia. The 76ers have lost 12 of their last 14 games and are 11-23 at home.

"We just didn't have it," Sixers coach Eddie Jordan said.

Chicago built a 21-point lead and had a 77-62 advantage after the third quarter.

Former Gator Joakim Noah and Miller scored consecutive baskets to open the fourth to quickly put the Bulls back ahead by 19. The 76ers, 1-for-17 from 3-point range, never got within single digits the rest of the way.

"As a team, we have to do a better job," Samuel Dalembert said. "We have to recognize situations and play better."

Rose missed the previous four games, while Noah returned after missing 10 straight games because of a left foot injury.

"Having Rose and Noah back really helped," Chicago coach Vinny Del Negro said. "It was a nice win, knowing what we've been through."'

Game highlights: Chris Bosh scored 36 and the Raptors kept the host Nets moving toward an NBA single-season record for losses with a 100-90 victory. At 7-62 with 13 games left, the Nets are in danger of breaking the mark for single-season futility, set by Philadelphia (9-73) in 1972-73. … Quentin Richardson scored all 18 of his points on 3-pointers, Michael Beasley added 16 points and the host Heat beat the Bobcats 77-71 to pass Charlotte for sixth in the Eastern Conference. Dwyane Wade had 14 points on a poor shooting night, but made up for it with nine assists and five blocks to help Miami move a half-game ahead of Charlotte. Wade scored in double figures for the 443rd game, topping Alonzo Mourning's franchise record. Miami center Jermaine O'Neal missed the game because of a sprained left ankle.… Rudy Gay scored 25, O. J. Mayo added 21 and the host Grizzlies sent the Warriors to their 13th consecutive road loss, 123-107. Memphis, which outrebounded Golden State 54-37, put the game away in the third quarter, outscoring the Warriors 38-26.
