Rowdies shut out at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A 69th-minute goal by Louisville City FC was the difference in a 1-0 loss by the Rowdies on Saturday.

Oscar Jimenez took a pass from Paolo Delpiccolo and put the ball past goalkeeper Cody Mizell for the defending USL champions.

"I am gutted for the players as I believe they had a great performance and deserved at least a point," Rowdies coach Stuart Campbell said. "It was another good performance on the road by the Rowdies, which is a very positive takeaway.

In the first half, Mizell made two great saves for the Rowdies (2-1-0)  to keep the game scoreless.

The first was in the 15th minute, when Mizell was able to get his left foot on a Luke Spencer shot that looked like it was headed for the back of the net. The second also was on Spencer. This time Mizell came off his line to close down the angle.

The Rowdies' best chance was in the final minute. Georgi Hristov made a run into the box, and when the ball looked like it would go in, a Louisville defender was able to dive in front to send it out for a corner.

The Rowdies' next game is against Ottawa Fury FC on April 7 at Al Lang Stadium.
