CHICAGO — Bruce Chen outpitched Jake Peavy for his first win in six weeks, and Billy Butler hit his career-high 22nd homer for Kansas City. Chicago, which had won 10 of 13, saw its AL Central lead over the Tigers shrink to a half-game. The White Sox went ahead 2-1 in the sixth after the Royals tied it in the top half. But RBI singles by Tony Abreu and Alex Gordon off of Peavy in the seventh gave Kansas City a 3-2 lead.
