Royals 6, Phillies 2

PHILADELPHIA — Kendrys Morales had two home runs and four RBIs and Danny Duffy pitched a career-high 8⅔ innings for the Royals. Morales extended his hitting streak to eight games with a second-inning homer and is batting .565 with seven homers and 21 RBIs in his past 13 games. The defending World Series champions finally gained ground on Cleveland in the AL Central and now trail the Indians by six games. The Phillies had a four-game winning streak snapped.
