NASHVILLE — Defenseman P.K. Subban, the Predators' big offseason acquisition, scored in his team debut, the first of three Nashville power-play goals in a season-opening 3-2 win over the Blackhawks on Friday.
Mike Fisher redirected Roman Josi's shot late in the second period for the go-ahead goal. He and Josi each had a goal and an assist, and Ryan Johansen had three assists. Pekka Rinne made 22 saves.
Marcus Kruger and Niklas Hjalmarsson scored for Chicago, which has lost its first two games this season playing with six rookies in the lineup. The Blackhawks have allowed six power-play goals in their first two games.
Around the league: Sabres forward Evander Kane is out indefinitely after cracking three ribs in Thursday's season opener, the latest misfortune for a team already without top-line center Jack Eichel, who is out several weeks after sustaining a high ankle sprain in practice Wednesday. … Canadiens goalie Carey Price will sit out at least one more game because of a "severe case" of the flu, the team said. He won't play tonight in Ottawa after missing Thursday's season-opening win against the Sabres.
