Shaky deal of the day

Showtime and MLB Productions recently announced a reality show that will follow the San Francisco Giants next season. Not so fast. Apparently many of the Giants players are not interested in having cameras in their faces for a season, according to the New York Daily News. Giants general manager Brian Sabean said, "(Showtime) shot themselves in the foot with the (news) release." The show still might happen but without "total" access to players.

Rumor of the day

Former NFL receiver Plaxico Burress will be released from a New York jail in June after serving about 21 months for a handgun charge. So where will Burress, 33, land? Rumored teams include the Giants, Jets and Steelers. He last played for the Giants and played for the Steelers before that. Burress doesn't make sense for the Steelers, who don't need a receiver and generally don't take on players with baggage. But he might fit with either of the New York teams.

He wrote it

"If you're going to hard-sell an 18-game schedule, prove that someone other than NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and the owners actually want the added games.''
