4A girls soccer: Robinson overwhelmed in 9-1 loss

LAKEWOOD RANCH — The only thing that slowed Lakewood Ranch was the opposing team's bus. It got stuck in traffic, which meant the Class 4A, Region 3 match against Robinson began 30 minutes late.

The Knights might have wished the bus never arrived Thursday. Once the game got underway, Lakewood Ranch dominated and coasted to 9-1 victory in a match that was stopped by the mercy rule with two minutes left.

Robinson, making the first girls region soccer appearance in school history, couldn't muster any offense and had only one shot on goal, which went into the Mustangs' net in the 62nd minute.
