4A region soccer: Lakewood Ranch 8, Strawberry Crest 0

LAKEWOOD RANCH — Kaitlyn Wolfe doesn't lead Lakewood Ranch in any particular category, but she is among the top players in goals and assists and provides leadership for a relatively young team.

The forward got Lakewood Ranch (18-1-2) started with its first goal, assisted on the next and set the tone in the Mustangs' 8-0 romp over Strawberry Crest (7-9) Thursday night.

"We have been struggling with finishing, but tonight we were really on," Wolfe said. "We tried to get it to the outside and then cross it in. We play every team like it's going to be the hardest game of our lives and performed. Underdogs can come out and surprise you."

The Mustangs set program records with their 18th shutout and 14th straight match holding an opponent scoreless.
