Before this season began, second-year Steinbrenner set its ambitions high with a goal of advancing to the state tournament.
Steinbrenner (19-2-2) met its mark Friday night with a 1-0 win over Naples Barron Collier to reach the Class 4A state final four.
The Warriors scored the game's only goal in the 30th minute when Danielle Eule put back a Cici Gonzalez free kick that hit off the post and in front of the box.
"We made some lofty goals for ourselves, especially for a program just in its second season, but we've met them," Steinbrenner coach Teresa Patterson said.
Steinbrenner outshot Barron Collier 14-3 and was able to weather a physical game with several scoring opportunities that came off set pieces after foul calls.
