6A-8 district soccer: Quick-strike Wharton, top-seeded Bloomingdale move on

At Bloomingdale, third-seeded Wharton (9-10-1) scored twice in a span of roughly 30 seconds late in the second half to rally for a 3-2 victory against No. 2 Plant on Thursday night.

Seconds after Felipe Desousa's goal tied the score, senior Cody Brown sent a header to the far post for the-winner with about 15 minutes to play.

Brown also assisted on Konner Dozark's goal that tied things at 1-all.

The Wildcats face top-seeded Bloomingdale (15-1-3), a 5-1 winner over Alonso, in tonight's 7 p.m. final.

Matt Firestine and Tevin Gage each had two goals for the Bulls, with Firestine scoring on a blast near midfield off the opening kickoff.
