2A-11 softball: Top-seeded Northside thrashes Out-of-Door

Top seed Northside thrashes Out-of-Door

ST. PETERSBURG — Heading into Tuesday's semifinal against Out-of-Door (3-14), top-seeded Northside Christian's (21-2) main goal was to just stay focused.

That's exactly what they did, dismantling the Thunder 15-0. The Thunder had some difficulties with control early, and were quickly down 6-0 in the first as the Mustangs scored on four hits with countless passed balls.

The Out-of-Door defense continued to make errors, the pitching continued to falter and the Mustang hits kept on coming.

"We are one step closer to our goal and that is winning a district championship," Northside coach John Anderson said. "This is one of the best teams that we have had in a long time."

Jessica Anderson struck out 12, walked one and allowed one hit for Northside. The Mustangs face Shorecrest, a 7-6 winner over St. Stephen's, in Thursday's final.
