(records through Wednesday)

1. Countryside (12-1): The Cougars have clawed out 26 hits in their past two victories.

2. East Lake (10-5): With wins in the past week over Palm Harbor University and Pinellas Park, the Eagles are the hottest team in the county.

3. Palm Harbor University (10-4): The Hurricanes vault Tarpon Springs this week thanks to an 8-3 victory over the Spongers on Monday.

4. Tarpon Springs (9-3): After winning eight of nine games to start the season, the Spongers have lost two of their past three.

5. Northside Christian (13-1): The Mustangs beat Class 6A schools Seminole Ridge and Coral Park over the weekend.

6. Osceola (8-3): The Warriors' extra-inning victory over Tarpon Springs on Wednesday places them in our top seven this week.

7. St. Petersburg Catholic (12-2): The Barons started the season 11-0 but have dropped two of three.
