Class 5A: Bloomingdale (21-8) at River Ridge (21-7)

About Bloomingdale: The Bulls, who lost to River Ridge 2-1 in last year's playoffs, beat the Royal Knights 6-0 on March 28 in winning the Riverview Spring Fling. … McKenzie Carter (.438), Hannah Hensley (.442) and Jordan Alexander (.462) are the Bulls' leading hitters, and Carter's 30 RBIs are a team high. … Kaelyn Castellanos is second on the team with 25 RBIs while hitting .391. … Senior Kaylyn Camacho is one of Tampa Bay's elite pitchers, sporting a 14-7 record with 179 strikeouts in 141 innings. … Camacho struck out 20 Land O'Lakes hitters in Bloomingdale's first-round, 12-inning playoff victory.

About River Ridge: The Royal Knights are looking to get to the region championship for the first time since 2004, the last of three straight appearances in the state semifinals. … Bloomingdale handed River Ridge its worst loss of the season when they last met. … Sarah Simon leads the team in hitting at .430, and Madison Morris is right behind her at .429. Simon leads the team with eight doubles, but has only one homer. … Lakyn Shull was runnerup in MVP voting at the Spring Fling, and is hitting .338 with five doubles three triples. She has emerged as the staff ace after closing last year and beat Newsome in the first round by scattering seven hits. It was, however, her first win in her last five appearances. On the year, she is 11-3 with a 1.36 ERA.

Class 4A: Harmony (19-7) at Pasco (23-6)

About Harmony: The Longhorns have won five straight games. They knocked off Nature Coast with a bottom of the seventh run in the quarterfinal. … Harmony can hit — it averaged eight runs a game this season. … Junior 1B Emily Lanier is a stud, hitting a whopping .648, and has 16 doubles, four triples and five home runs and is working on an 18-game hitting streak. … Pitcher Breann Vanderzyl (12-4, 1.15 ERA) is hitting .393, and Payton Dering is hitting .456.

About Pasco: The Pirates have won four games in a row. … They will be looking to avenge a 2-1 loss to the Longhorns in the playoffs last year. … Since district tournament play started, Colena Lazar is 9-for-11 with three homers and eight RBIs in four games. Oh, and she is 4-0 in that span pitching with a 0.00 ERA. … Lazar has struck out 10 or more in her past five starts. … Shortstop Lucy Schneider is batting .495 with 10 doubles and 18 multi-hit games. … Leadoff hitter Megan Newsome has been a spark plug, and Colesa Lazar is hitting .375 with seven doubles.

Class A: Lake Mary Prep (22-5) at Hernando Christian (20-5), 4 p.m.

About Lake Mary Prep: The Griffins beat Hernando Christian 2-1 last year in the region semifinals on the way to a state runnerup finish. … Beat Meadowbrook 3-1 in the first round, a team that the Lions beat 5-4, 17-0 and 14-10. … Pitcher Kirsten Toole struck out 12 in the Griffins' district title win.

About Hernando Christian: The Lions haven't lost to a Class A team all season, losing three times to 4A competition. … Averaging more than 10 runs a game, Hernando Christian boasts some impressive offensive numbers. Heidi Riley led the North Suncoast with a .608 average, and tied teammate Madison Manuel with the team lead of 35 RBIs. … Riley has 21 doubles this season and nine triples, and her slugging percentage is 1.177. … Manuel is hitting .446 and is one of four Lions to score more than 30 runs. … As a team the Lions are hitting .432, with Riley, Manuel, Jackie Butler (.553), Melissa Weaver (.434) and Remi Manuel (.465) hitting over .400. … Seventh-grader Courtney Riddle (8-2, 1.54 ERA) and Alicia Field (10-3, 2.70 ERA) are the pitchers.
