FORT WORTH, Texas — TCU senior guard Hank Thorns tweeted a few hours before playing No. 11 UNLV about never experiencing the thrill of being surrounded by Horned Frogs fans on the court after a big win.

He needed to do an update afterward.

Thorns scored eight of his career-high 32 in overtime, and the Frogs beat a ranked team for the first time in five years with a 102-97 victory over the Rebels (22-5, 6-3 Mountain West) Tuesday night.

When the game ended, the Las Vegas native jumped excitedly onto the scorer's table before joining his teammates being mobbed by students in the middle of the floor. Thorns found his father and uncle in the crowd then shed tears when he got in the locker room.

"I'm just overwhelmed,' Thorns said. "My dream came true. It was a dream for me to do this, to beat these guys."

TCU trailed by 18 with about 15 minutes left and had cut that deficit by only three points five minutes later.

The Frogs hadn't led since the opening minutes until Thorns started overtime with a layup. They didn't give the lead up.

"It's hard to put it into perspective — down 18 points to the No. 11 team in the country," TCU coach Jim Christian said. "I just thought our kids were so resilient and play so hard."

NO. 6 OHIO ST. 78, MINNESOTA 68: William Buford scored 24 and Jared Sullinger backed him up inside with 23 to help the visiting Buckeyes (22-4, 10-3 Big Ten) snap back from a home loss to Michigan State.

CLEMSON 60, NO. 22 UVA 48: The host Tigers finished the game with an 18-9 run and held the Cavaliers (19-6, 6-5 ACC) to their second-fewest points this season. Virginia outside threat Joe Harris played in a cast after breaking his left hand in Saturday's loss to North Carolina.

USF women triumph

MILWAUKEE — Inga Orekhova had 14 points, and USF overcame poor shooting with solid defense in a 61-48 victory over Marquette.

The Bulls (14-13, 6-7 Big East) shot 33 percent (22-of-66) but held the Golden Eagles (13-12, 4-8) to 28.6 percent (16-of-56) to win their second straight game.

"Particularly it was a very ugly basketball game," USF coach Jose Fernandez said. "The game never really had a flow to it. Offensively we didn't play very well, but at the end of the day we found a win."

NO. 4 NOTRE DAME 66, PROVIDENCE 47: Devereaux Peters had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the host Irish (25-2, 12-1 Big East), who shot 48 percent and outrebounded the Friars 41-25.

NO. 14 TEXAS A&M 56, MISSOURI 52: Kelsey Bone scored 14 and Alexia Standish hit two critical free throws as the visiting Aggies (18-6, 9-4 Big 12) rallied with a late 11-0 run.

NO. 15 G'TOWN 60, VILLANOVA 54: Sugar Rodgers had 19 points for the visiting Hoyas (20-6, 9-4 Big East), who scored 20 off 19 turnovers.

NO. 19 LOUISVILLE 71, PITT 66, OT: Antonita Slaughter hit a jumper to force overtime then had four points and a steal in the extra period for the visiting Cardinals (19-7, 8-5 Big East).
