North Suncoast: District tennis schedules

At stake

The first- and second-place teams in each district advance to region semifinals April 21 and 23. The No. 1 singles and doubles champions from each district whose teams don't reach state advance to the individual bracket of the state tournament in their respective classifications.

Class 4A, District 5

Where: McMullen Tennis Complex, Clearwater

Start date: Tuesday, 8 a.m.

Teams involved: Alonso, Countryside, Gaither, Mitchell, Palm Harbor University, Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg, Sickles

Defending champ: Boys — St. Petersburg; girls — St. Petersburg

Class 3A, District 5

Where: River Ridge

Start date: Tuesday, 8:30 a.m.

Teams involved: Belleview, Central, Lake Weir, Land O'Lakes, Leesburg, Ridgewood, River Ridge, South Lake, Springstead, Wesley Chapel

Defending champs: Boys — River Ridge; girls — River Ridge

Class 2A, District 6

Where: Boys — Zephyr Park, Zephyrhills; girls — Sunlake

Start date: Monday, 8:30 a.m.

Teams involved: Gulf, Hernando, Hudson, Nature Coast, Pasco, Sunlake, Wiregrass Ranch, Zephyrhills

Defending champs: Boys — Hernando; girls — Nature Coast
