Qualifiers: Mitchell – Katie Young, Jr. (HJ); Jessica Jagielski, So. (800)

Notable: Mitchell sophomore Jessica Jagielski won the 800 region title with a run of 2 minutes, 22.07 seconds, a surprise after posting the fourth-fastest time at her district meet. Mustangs junior Katie Young advanced to her first state meet.

Class 3A

When: Friday

Qualifiers: Central – Tikiera Relaford, Fr. (HJ); Hudson – Joey Buono, Sr. (PV); Ridgewood – Beth Butler, Sr. (HJ), Keari Brink, Sr. (PV); Land O'Lakes – Felix Soto, Jr. (1,600, 3,200), Nicole Woodard, Fr. (LJ), Reta Woodard, Jr. (SP), Matt Schwartz, So. (3,200); Wesley Chapel – Desiree Vizcaino (4x800), Merideth Dean (4x800), Kirsten Fee (4x800), Jessica Furst (4x800), Jeani Ducos, Sr. (DS), Earon Hicks, Jr. (TJ), Kamran Joyer, Jr. (SP)

Notable: Ridgewood senior Keari Brink is the top seed in the pole vault after winning the region meet with a vault of 10 feet, 6 inches. She is undefeated this season. Land O'Lakes junior Felix Soto won the 3,200 but dropped to second in the 1,600,. Gators sophomore Matt Schwartz should have a good shot at a medal after finishing second at region in the 3,200. Central freshman Tikiera Relaford is seeded third in the high jump with a mark of 5-6. Wesley Chapel junior Kamran Joyer is seeded fifth in the discus with a mark of 51-2.25.
