DETROIT — Jamey Carroll hit an RBI single in the 10th inning as the Twins completed a sweep to knock the Tigers a game back of the first-place White Sox in the AL Central. Pinch-hitter Denard Span, a former Tampa Catholic standout, led off the 10th with a single off Tigers closer Jose Valverde, and Carroll drove him in with a one-out single.
