2A-11 volleyball: Northside Christian clinches crown

Class 2A, district 11 Mustangs dispatch a familiar foe

SARASOTA — Top-seeded Northside Christian won its third straight district title with a 3-1 victory over Bradenton Saint Stephen's on Thursday night.

The Mustangs bounced back from a 23-25 loss in the first game to sweep the next three 25-13, 25-23, 25-18 in the Class 2A-11 tournament at Out-of-Door Academy.

"We played up and down tonight," Northside coach Kelly Jackson said. "We definitely had our moments, but we pulled through."

Kayla Walton had 18 kills and Jennica Mullins added 16 for the Mustangs.
