CHICAGO — Alexei Ramirez's grand slam highlighted Chicago's seven-run fourth. Jose Abreu added his majors-high 13th homer and two RBIs to give him an AL-high 37. Arizona's Brandon McCarthy retired the first nine batters he faced on a total of 33 pitches. But Alejandro De Aza led off the fourth with a double that started the big inning. All nine hits McCarthy allowed came during the inning.
